Census infographic: Who is receiving Social safety net benefits

Image
For my infographic, I chose a post from the Us Census Bureau. This graphic shows social safety nets provided by the US federal government. Social safety nets are also called welfare. I found this particular set of statistics interesting because it dispels a common misconception. Some people believe that social safety nets are disproportionately drained by minorities. However, this shows that white Americans receive the most from social safety nets. Also, white and black Americans are represented equally in proportion to their population. It is important to remember that there is nothing shameful or wrong with receiving assistance from the government. The programs are there to help to struggling Americans and should be used by those in need.
